About

My name is David Warrington and I am a photographer living in the beautiful university city of Cambridge, UK. I have travelled the world and had the privilege of being able to photograph such places as Jordan, Vietnam, Cuba, Bali and Alaska - my heart however always seems to return to Cambridge and I find myself happiest when I’m wondering the streets of my home town, camera in hand, looking for the next moment to present itself.

In late 2015 I decided to embark on a photography project; documenting the best, the worse, the interesting and the out of the ordinary that makes up Cambridge. The Cambridge By Photo blog and website was born. A new photo is posted in the blog each week, along with a description of the image or the location. Now almost two years later, the site has grow into a   flourishing Digital Image and Print Store.

Please use my contact page to get in touch.

I hope you enjoy Cambridge By Photo!

My Current Equipment

I have always been a Canon camera fan. Ever since my first Point and Click Instamatic and right up to my latest purchase, the EOS 70D, I have reminded loyal to the brand. I've nothing against other makes but using anything but a Canon would feel almost alien to me. I tend to use the 70D for most day to day work and the full frame 6D for landscape shoots. Occasionally the old 650 workhorse is brought out of retirement if I need more than one body for a shoot.

In terms of lenses I have a mixture of Canon and Sigma models. The Sigma brand has moved on massively over the past couple of years and they now rival the Canon lens in terms of features and most importantly, image quality. The Sigma 18-250 Superzoom is my go-to lens when travelling as it gives me a wide range of focal lengths without having to carry lots of difference pieces of kit. My current favourite however is the Canon 24-105 L Series. Although quite big it produces amazing images with a seemingly greater level of depth than other models. It can also stand the occasional knock as well!

Current Equipment: Canon EOS 70D, EOS 6D, EOS 650 Rebel | Sigma Zoom - 18-250mm - F/3.5-6.3 Lens | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens | Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens | Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens | EF 40mm f/2.8 STM | Manfotto Tripod | Various grad and ND filters | Lowepro shoulder bags

In terms of post production, all my photos are processed on either my Macbook Pro or iMac with Adobe Lightroom used to catalogue, process and manage colour and balance levels. Very occasionally I will use Photoshop for light touching up of an image.
