HDR Bikes

Two photos of bikes in two consecutive weeks? Yes I know there is more to Cambridge than bicycles! I decided to publish this photo very much at the last minute - in fact I had another (non bike related) image all ready to go! It was only after I selected the image for last weeks post that I noticed this one. This also coincided with the day that I downloaded a new set of Lightroom image processing presets.....

This is my first HDR style image (and probably not the last!) What is HDR - (dictionary team) "HDR, as its name implies, is a method that aims to add more "dynamic range" to photographs, where dynamic range is the ratio of light to dark in a photograph. Instead of just taking one photo, HDR uses three photos, taken at different exposures." Unfortunately my trusty Canon doesn't do in camera HDR processing (and I don't often have my tripod with me to take three steady shots) so I have to resort to the post processing option instead.

The photo was taken handheld and processed in Lightroom.

Taken with a Canon600d with a Canon EF50mm f/1.4 USM lens / iso200 / F7.1
