Punts in Cambridge
My first post! Thank you for visiting and hopefully enjoying my new photo blog site - Cambridge By Photo. It was taken a while but finally, we are now up and running. This is my attempt at writing a blog and I would love to get any feedback or thoughts you might have. Leave me a comment, follow me on Twitter or Facebook and of course don't forget to have a look at some of my other photo sites (all shown on the "me" page).
On with my first post....
If a single object could epitomise Cambridge it would probably be a punt (or maybe a bicycle!) Through summer the River Cam becomes gridlocked with punts, like some floating traffic jam without horns and engine revving. This particular shot was taken early on an October morning. The punts were still chained up and floating just below a bridge. I was able to carefully lean over and take a vertical shot looking straight down at four of them
I recoloured the shot very slightly in Lightroom, mainly to create the glass effect to the already still water and also to highlight the texture of the wood on the punts. I like how the punts create a cross which draws your eye into the photograph.
