I hope you enjoyed the image of St Edwards Passage from last week. As promised here is the second image. Another somewhat abstract view of the street. A worms eye view of Cambridge - this time taken from the other direction. Same location, same camera position - just facing the other way.
Art is such a subjective thing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and thoughts. One persons work of art is another persons trash - that is the beauty of art, there is no wrong or right answer. I know this image will divide peoples opinion. Some (hopefully) will appreciate the different viewpoint and take on the location, while others will simply wonder what on earth they are looking at. My father included! My Dad will often look at some of my more abstract images and give that classic "thats nice." reaction....
To me this image feels like two worlds put together. There was something about the reflection and the world within - almost like another land, another place. This inspired me to play with various colour styles and treatments and I came up with this black and white / colour crossover. Using the saturation brush option within Lightroom I was able to remove all but the reflected colour from the photo. I thought I would also include below the image but upside down. As with some of my previous reflection images I'm never quite sure which one I prefer!
