Winter Flowers

 Cambridge winter flowers

The things I do to try and get a good picture! On a very snowy morning in Cambridge, while taking some misty views of Clare and Trinity college, I noticed a lone Crocus which has manged to avoid the covering of snow its fellow flowers were under and was standing, almost triumphantly in the middle of a blank of snow - determined not to let the cold weather get the better of it.

Eventually, after several failed attempts to take the shot by holding the camera close to the flower and using the flip up screen to focus, I knew there would only be one way to get the shot I wanted and it would involve getting covered in snow......

A few minutes later, I had a very cold and snow covered front, as well as slightly numb knees (should have worn thicker jeans), but most importantly, the shot I wanted.
