Back to the Golden Hour this week and the combination of the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside and the amazing skies that only a winters morning can deliver. This weeks image was taken on a frosty, icy morning in January. On first view this looks like an image of a river or lake 0 In reality, this is actually a field on the outskirts of the picturesque and chocolate box village that is Grantchester. I think the field had been flooded after recent bad weather, (this areas, being close to the river Cam is often prone to flooding) and then a bout of cold weather caused the whole field to look like some part frozen ice rink.
The golden and fiery sky being the tress helps to set off the dark foreground perfectly. I raised the clarity levels a tiny bit and also played about with the white balance as well using Lightroom.
Taken with a Canon 70D DSLR Camera and Sigma 18-250 Lens.
